Purchased my first pair in 2007 due to plantar fasc while training for triathlon. You need to have stern but comfortable arch support in a shoe that maintains a constant arch in the injured foot in order to reduce stress and micro-tears from recurring while walking daily, as I've been told by my personal othro physician and PT. I purchased these after trying other shoes but Dansko makes the best arch-supporting shoes on the market, hence is why health professionals use them all the time in the hospital/clinic because they are on their feet all day. I've used these consistently for the next 10 months after purchase along with swimming instead of running and have to say that this shoe allowed for recovery most successfully. It has been 3 years now (2010) and I am still using this shoe as house shoes due to its arch support. I am back to training regularly and still use these shoes when around the house. However, since Dansko is no longer making this shoe, I had to buy this pair now before I can't find it anymore. Overall, an excellent shoe and worth buying a second pair.
